About MRA
The Michigan Railroads Association (MRA) is a non-profit trade association that represents
the interests of the freight railroads operating in Michigan. MRA members range in size from
large Class I interstate carriers, to smaller regional carriers and shortlines. MRA members
account for over 95% of all rail freight moved in Michigan. Amtrak, the nation's rail passenger
service, operates over MRA member track.
Mission Statement
To
represent the interests of and provide public relations support to those in the
rail freight industry who operate in Michigan.
To ensure the industry has a voice at all levels of state government in
legislative, administrative and judicial matters.
To educate officials of local and state government and business and
members of the public on rail freight matters.
To keep the rail industry informed of all governmental concerns.
And to provide support to those who have an interest in public safety as
it relates to the rail freight industry.
